Briefing

How 007 First Light Challenges Work

The 007 First Light challenges split across two separate systems. Knowing which is which saves a lot of wasted replays, because they reward different things and are tracked separately from the game’s trophies.

9 main missions, each with its own set

Per-mission challenges

Every one of the nine main 007 First Light missions has its own challenge list — optional objectives that ask you to play a section a specific way. Clear a mission’s whole set and its Completionist challenge pops, unlocking that chapter’s TacSim outfit. The eight interlude chapters have none.

The Pacifist / Ghost / Assault trio

Three challenge types repeat in every mission: Pacifist (clear a section taking nobody down), Ghost (clear it unseen) and Assault (defeat everyone). They count as three of the mission’s challenges — and clearing each across all nine missions completes three of the Global Challenges too.

The 15 Global Challenges

Separate from any single mission, the 15 Global Challenges tally career stats across the whole campaign — stealth takedowns, firearm kills, watch hacks, gadget uses. Finish all 15 and you unlock the classic Agent suit.

Plan around conflicts

Some challenges are mutually exclusive in one run — a stealth challenge and a combat challenge in the same area, for example. Read a mission’s list before you start, then use Chapter Select to replay a checkpoint and mop up the ones you couldn’t combine.

Not trophies — Global Challenges and mission challenges are in-game cosmetic unlocks. They are separate from the PSN/Steam achievement list, which we cover in the 007 First Light trophy guide.

The Full 15 Global Challenges List

15 milestones · reward: classic Agent suit

Clearing all 15 Global Challenges unlocks the classic Agent suit — the game's way of certifying you've used every tool in Bond's kit. These are separate from a mission's own challenges, and separate again from PSN/Steam trophies. Tick each one as you clear it — progress saves to this browser only. The four rollups are confirmed across guides; the exact stat thresholds rest on a single walkthrough, so they carry a source chip.

Chapter · Iceland

Against the Odds Challenges List

9 challenges (8 unique + Completionist) · reward: Iceland Outfit

Against the Odds is the Iceland prologue, and every challenge plays out in the central camp — so you can replay one checkpoint with Chapter Select and clean the whole set up. The two source guides (NeonLightsMedia + Game Rant) name the same eight, so they're listed as confirmed; the only published disagreement is the count itself (one round-up says 8 by dropping the Completionist tag).

Run planning — Pacifist and No Help Needed both want a quiet, distraction-free run, so they pair up — but neither can share a run with Full of Surprises, which forces you to use both distractions. Do the distraction challenge on its own pass.

A New Home Challenges List

12 challenges (11 unique + Completionist) · reward: Malta Training Outfit

A New Home is the Malta training chapter, built around two flag-steal objectives — first in “In at the Deep End”, then in the compound — plus Monroe's memory game and a polygraph test. NeonLightsMedia and Game Rant agree on all eleven, so they're listed as confirmed. Two of them are pure inputs you can't fail once you know the answer.

Run planning — The stealth/combat challenges split cleanly across the two flag sections: Something to Prove pairs with Cressida's Way on the first flag, and White Flag pairs with Always Do the Unexpected on the compound flag. The Assault challenges (Monroe's Way, Party Crasher) each need their own loud run.

Wardrobe

Every 007 First Light Challenge Outfit Reward

Challenges are the only way to unlock TacSim outfits, so the completionist payoff is cosmetic. Here is every outfit a full challenge set unlocks, in mission order, plus the Agent suit from the 15 Global Challenges. Two missions have no documented unique outfit — we say so rather than invent one.

Field Tactics

Pacifist, Ghost & Assault — The Recurring 007 First Light Challenges

The same three challenge types recur in all nine 007 First Light missions, so the tactics transfer wholesale — learn them once and you clear them everywhere. The trick is sequencing: do the two stealth challenges together, then come back loud for Assault.

Ghost: clear it unseen

Ghost wants a full section with no detection. Tag enemies through walls with the watch first, move on the patrol's back beat, and lean on the dart phone or a thrown distraction to open a gap rather than fighting through it. If an alarm trips, restart the checkpoint — Ghost won't register once you've been spotted.

Pacifist: take nobody down

Pacifist is stricter than Ghost: you can be seen, but you can't knock anyone out or kill them in the tracked section. Route around guards, use smoke pods and distractions to slip past, and remember Pacifist and Ghost usually share a single quiet run — so attempt them together before you ever go loud.

Assault: defeat everyone

Assault is the opposite ask — clear the area by force. Save it for its own run, because it can't coexist with the stealth challenges in the same section. Stock the loud gadgets (missile pen, flash mines) and treat it as a combat sandbox; this run also feeds the firearms and CQC Global Challenges.

Stack the Global Challenges

Because the Global Challenges tally career totals, you complete them passively while chasing mission challenges — every stealth takedown, watch hack and gadget use counts. If a few are still short after the campaign, replay a combat-heavy chapter (it racks up firearm and melee counts fast) via Chapter Select.

For the seven missions with a full walkthrough, the 007 First Light missions guide lists every named challenge with its own checklist; the two prologue-area missions above keep their lists on this page.

007 First Light Challenges FAQ

How many challenges are there in 007 First Light?

[ + ]

Each of the nine main missions in 007 First Light carries its own set of challenges, ranging from 9 in the Iceland prologue up to 29 in Uninvited. On top of those, 15 campaign-wide Global Challenges track career stats across the whole game. The eight interlude chapters carry no challenges. Some per-mission totals are reported as a small range across guides (for example Knightfall at 23–25); where they differ we publish the figure most sources name and flag the disagreement.

What do 007 First Light challenges unlock?

[ + ]

Clearing a main mission's full challenge set unlocks a TacSim outfit for that chapter — for example the Iceland Outfit (Against the Odds), the Malta Training Outfit (A New Home), the white tuxedo (Knightfall), the Funeral Outfit (Uninvited) and the Mauritania outfit (The Past Never Dies). Completing all 15 Global Challenges unlocks the classic Agent suit, and Wave of the Future and For England add the Polar Outfit and the Track Suit. For the full wardrobe — all 39 outfits including editions, Twitch drops and promos — see our 007 First Light outfits guide.

What are the Pacifist, Ghost and Assault challenges?

[ + ]

Pacifist, Ghost and Assault are the three recurring challenge types that appear in every main mission. Pacifist asks you to finish a section without taking enemies down, Ghost without being spotted, and Assault by defeating everyone. Clearing all three in a mission counts as three of its challenges, and clearing each one across every mission completes three of the 15 Global Challenges. Pacifist and Ghost can usually be combined in one quiet run; Assault almost always needs its own loud run.

How do you complete the Against the Odds challenges?

[ + ]

All nine of its challenges happen in the Iceland central camp. Pacifist (take down only the two soldiers at B4 and G9), Ghost (stay unseen) and No Help Needed (use no distractions) can share a single quiet run; Full of Surprises needs a separate run because it forces you to use both the BT-65 and the ATV. 00 to Become (7 unseen takedowns in a row), High Ground (3 takedowns from above) and Scenic Route (use the zipline) can be picked up along the way. Clearing all eight pops Completionist and the Iceland Outfit.

How do you complete the A New Home challenges?

[ + ]

A New Home has 12 challenges across two flag-steal sections plus Monroe's memory game and a polygraph test. For Mr Mnemonic, answer Monroe with umbrella and crown; for Spinning a Yarn, lie on all three polygraph questions. Something to Prove pairs with Cressida's Way on the first flag, White Flag pairs with Always Do the Unexpected on the compound flag, and the two Assault challenges (Monroe's Way, Party Crasher) each need their own combat run. Finishing all 11 unlocks the Malta Training Outfit.

Are 007 First Light Global Challenges the same as trophies?

[ + ]

No. Global Challenges are an in-game progression track — 15 milestones that tally things like stealth takedowns, firearm kills and gadget uses across the whole campaign, rewarding the Agent suit. They are separate from the PSN/Steam trophy list, which is covered on our trophy guide. You can work toward both at once, but they unlock different things.

Do I have to complete every challenge in one playthrough?

[ + ]

No. You can use Chapter Select to replay a specific checkpoint without redoing the whole mission, which is the standard way to mop up challenges you missed or that conflict in a single run (a stealth challenge and a combat challenge in the same area, for instance). Read a mission's challenge list before you start it so you know which approach each section wants.

Which 007 First Light mission has the most challenges?

[ + ]

Uninvited has the most at 29, followed by All the Time in the World at 27. The Iceland prologue has the fewest at 9. Counts for several missions are reported as a narrow range across community guides, so we list the most-cited figure and flag any disagreement rather than picking one silently.
