007 First Light Mods — Real PC Fixes, Verified & Engine-Correct

A curated directory of the 007 First Light mods that actually exist — each one live on Nexus Mods, each linked straight to its source. The big wins first: kill the ultrawide black bars, add the FOV slider the game forgot, reskin Bond’s outfits. Every install step here is written for the engine 007 First Light really runs on, the Glacier engine with .rpkg mod files — not Unreal.

Independent, unofficial reference. We don’t host mods or sell tools — we point you to the real ones and show you the correct way to install them. IO Interactive has announced no official mod support; everything here is community-made.

The Directory

007 First Light Mods By Problem

Most people search for 007 First Light mods with one specific itch — the black bars on an ultrawide, a camera glued too close to Bond, or the urge to reskin his suit. So the list below is grouped by the problem you arrived with, not by upload date. Each mod is real and live; the link takes you to its own page to download. Before you mod cosmetics, it is worth checking the 39 outfits the game already unlocks — reskin mods swap exactly those.

Ultrawide & aspect-ratio mods

007 First Light locks rendering to 16:9. On a 21:9 or 32:9 ultrawide monitor that means black pillarbox bars down the sides — and in cutscenes the framing is fixed even on a normal display. This is the single most-reported PC complaint, and the first mod most players want.

007 First Light Ultrawide Cutscenes Fix

Removes the letterbox / side bars from cutscenes on ultrawide displays.

Unlocks the cutscene aspect ratio so in-engine cinematics fill a 21:9 or 32:9 screen instead of sitting in a pillarboxed 16:9 window.

Ultrawide Cutscene Fix (BAT Script)

One-click automated version of the ultrawide fix — no hex editor needed.

A small batch script applies the correct aspect-ratio value for you, so you skip the manual hex-edit of the game executable.

FOV & camera mods

There is no field-of-view slider in the in-game settings. The default third-person camera sits close behind Bond, which can feel cramped or cause motion discomfort. A mod is the only way to widen it.

Higher FOV and Camera

Adds the FOV control the game omits — pick a wider field of view.

Lets you choose from several FOV values (reported options include 70 / 90 / 110) and pull the camera back for a roomier third-person view.

FOV preset values reported by the mod page; confirm the current options on Nexus before installing.

Outfit & cosmetic mods

You want to change how Bond — or the world — looks: wear a different outfit, or reskin the selectable suits as someone else entirely. This is the fun end of modding, and where 007 First Light's scene got early press.

Expanded Outfits

Reskins Bond's selectable in-game outfits to look like other characters.

Swaps the appearance of the outfits you choose in-game — the basis of the early coverage about playing dressed as other characters. Kept current (the author updated it for Patch 2).

Cosmetic reskins track game patches — check the mod's compatibility note against your game version.

Quality-of-life mods

The small frictions: a long unskippable intro, on-screen clutter, or wanting the menus in another language. These quality-of-life mods smooth the edges without touching gameplay.

Skip Intro

Skips the startup logos and intro so you reach the menu faster.

Removes or shortens the boot-up splash sequence — a small but popular time-saver every time you launch.

More QoL & translation mods (Nexus hub)

UI-declutter, HUD, and community translation mods live on the game's Nexus hub.

How To Install 007 First Light Mods

Installing mods cleanly is mostly about doing it in the right order with the right tool. Follow these five steps and you can add, order and remove 007 First Light mods without ever hand-editing a game folder.

✓ Verified for the Glacier engine

007 First Light runs on IO Interactive’s Glacier engine and uses .rpkgmod files — the same modding format as IO’s Hitman games. That is why a dedicated manager exists. It is not an Unreal Engine 5 title, so there is no Content\Paks folder and no .pak files to drop in. Match your steps to the real engine and installs simply work.

  1. 1

    Back up first

Copy your 007 First Light save folder and, ideally, the whole game folder somewhere safe. If a mod misbehaves you can restore in seconds. This is the step the rushed guides skip.

  2. 2

    Install a mod manager

Use First Light Mod Manager (FLMM) or the Vortex extension. Both auto-detect your Steam/Epic copy and place files in the correct location — you do not need to hand-edit game directories.

  3. 3

Download from the mod's own page

Open the mod on Nexus Mods and download its file. 007 First Light mods are Glacier-engine .rpkg files, so your manager handles them directly — there are no Unreal .pak files involved.

  4. 4

Enable and order in the manager

Add the downloaded mod in FLMM/Vortex and toggle it on. The manager writes it to the right place and lets you disable it just as easily if you hit a conflict.

  5. 5

    Launch normally

Start the game through Steam or Epic as usual. If something looks off, disable the last mod you added first — one-at-a-time is the fastest way to find a conflict.

Q-Branch Extras

Trainers & Cheats (Single-Player)

Not strictly mods, but the same search brings people here: 007 First Light is a single-player campaign with no competitive multiplayer, so an offline trainer for unlimited health, ammo or no-reload carries no anti-cheat ban risk. These are the established tools — use them on your own save, at your own pace.

WeMod

A trainer client with a 007 First Light cheat set (reported ~13 options — unlimited health, ammo, no-reload and similar). Steam-aware.

PLITCH

Another trainer platform with a 007 First Light option set (reported ~12 cheats), aimed at single-player tweaking.

Security Brief

Modding Safely

Modding 007 First Light is low-risk if you keep four habits. None of this is paranoia — it is the difference between a five-second fix and a reinstall.

Back up your save before anything

Copy your 007 First Light save folder somewhere safe first. Most mod trouble is recoverable in seconds if you have a clean save to fall back to.

Download from the source only

Stick to each mod's own page on Nexus Mods. Avoid reposted bundles and unfamiliar download mirrors — a real mod always has a host page you can read first.

You need to own the game

Mods and trainers install into a legitimate, installed copy of 007 First Light. They are an add-on to the game you own, not a way around buying it.

Add one mod at a time

Enable mods individually and launch between each. If something breaks, the last one you added is your suspect — far quicker than untangling ten at once.

Mods are unofficial and unsupported by IO Interactive; install at your own discretion and keep a backup so a bad release never costs you a playthrough.

007 First Light Mods FAQ

Can you mod 007 First Light on PC?

[ + ]

Yes. There is no official mod support from IO Interactive as of June 4, 2026, but the community has already built working 007 First Light mods on PC — ultrawide and FOV fixes, outfit reskins, a skip-intro mod and more — hosted on Nexus Mods. The game uses IO's Glacier engine and .rpkg mod files, the same format as the Hitman games, which is why a dedicated mod manager exists.

How do I fix the 007 First Light ultrawide black bars?

[ + ]

Install the Ultrawide Cutscenes Fix from Nexus Mods. The game locks cutscenes to 16:9, so on a 21:9 or 32:9 monitor you get pillarbox bars; the mod unlocks the aspect ratio so cinematics fill the screen. There is a one-click BAT-script version if you would rather not hex-edit the executable yourself.

How do I change the FOV in 007 First Light?

[ + ]

007 First Light has no built-in field-of-view slider, so you need the Higher FOV and Camera mod from Nexus Mods. It adds selectable FOV values and pulls the third-person camera back for a wider, less cramped view. Confirm the current preset options on the mod page before installing.

Will 007 First Light mods or trainers get me banned?

[ + ]

007 First Light is a single-player game with no competitive multiplayer, so cosmetic mods and offline trainers carry no anti-cheat ban risk. The usual caution still applies: only download from trusted sources like Nexus Mods, and back up your save before installing.

Is 007 First Light on Unreal Engine 5 or Glacier?

[ + ]

007 First Light runs on IO Interactive's Glacier engine and uses .rpkg mod files — it is not an Unreal Engine 5 game, so a .pak / Content\Paks install method does not apply. Use a mod manager like First Light Mod Manager (FLMM) or the Vortex extension, which place .rpkg files correctly.

Where do I download 007 First Light mods safely?

[ + ]

From each mod's own page on Nexus Mods, the established host for 007 First Light mods. Back up your save first, install a mod manager (FLMM or the Vortex extension) to handle files for you, and add one mod at a time so any conflict is easy to trace.

Are there official 007 First Light mod tools?

[ + ]

No. As of June 4, 2026, IO Interactive has not released official modding tools or announced mod support for 007 First Light. Everything currently available is community-made, reverse-engineered around the Glacier engine's .rpkg format and managed by community tools such as First Light Mod Manager.

Can I play 007 First Light as other characters?

[ + ]

Partly — with the Expanded Outfits mod, which reskins the outfits you select in-game to look like other characters. It changes appearance only, not the story or who you control, and the author keeps it updated against game patches, so check its compatibility note for your version.
